NATURA MORTA is a conceptual book object that reinterprets Italo Calvino’s Marcovaldo through the lens of "Dark Ecology," juxtaposing romanticized nature with the cynical grit of The Devil’s Dictionary. Encased in an industrial silver shell, the project employs tactile layering and a chemically-saturated palette to manifest the violent, artificial intersection of the organic world and urban consumerism.

Inspired by Bernie and Clifton, and the heavy snows in the forests. Lore is built on the philosophy of winter: grounded, quiet, and substantial. It is a typeface with reversed contrast, extended structure, and ink trap.

This editorial project reinterprets an ItsNiceThat feature on Karel Martens, translating his experimental philosophy into a tactile experience through Risograph printing and vellum layering. By pairing industrial screw binding with raw kraft paper, the design physically manifests Martens’ signature play with texture and transparency.
